Support Groups Update

We are excited about the success of the Support Groups Project, which was launched in 2021. Adam Frost (WOR Alumnus) is the Support Group Project Manager. During the last two years, we have offered seven Alumni Support Groups. Groups meet for fifteen ninety-minute sessions over the span of thirty weeks, each series of groups co-facilitated by Alumni who have been trained as Peer Leaders. On-going supervision is provided by Diana Thomas (WOR Facilitator).  Amy Ellis (Nova University) and Jim Struve (MenHealing ED) are the other members of the project management team.

The use of the term “male” includes all cisgender and trans individuals who are masculine-identifying or self-identify as male. All sexual orientations are welcome.

Connection with other male survivors can make a huge difference in one’s journey. In the past, the ability to connect with other male survivors has largely depended on the person’s location and the availability of therapists and/or groups in their areas. The resources offered here strive to remove some of those barriers, bringing peer support to anyone interested, regardless of location or availability.
