After Neverland

“Leaving Neverland” is a controversial film that debuted at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival. The 2-part, 4-hour movie focuses on the alleged sexual abuse of young boys by the late iconic musician, Michael Jackson. The movies were aired on the HBO Channel this past Sunday and Monday, 3/3 & 3/4 – and are now available On Demand thru HBO. The PBS News Hour aired an interesting review about this documentary:

A new documentary is reigniting questions about pop icon Michael Jackson. Airing on HBO, “Leaving Neverland” profiles two men who say Jackson sexually abused them as children. One of them, Wade Robson, testified in Jackson's defense during a trial that saw him acquitted of child-molestation charges. John Yang talks to director Dan Reed about why he wanted to tell the troubling story.   Watch the full PBS segment 

On Feb 27, 2019 Oprah Winfrey taped a program – “After Neverland” that was aired on HBO on Feb 29, 2019

The studio audience was comprised of 100 male survivors, many of whom were WOR Alumni. Oprah interviewed the two male survivors who are the focus of the documentary. In addition, “After Neverland” featured Anthony Edwards, a WOR Alumni and current Vice Chair of 1-in-6.org.
