WEEKEND OF RECOVERY

Options for helping our mission

  • Support MenHealing with a monthly sustaining donation.
  • Matching Funds: If your employer offers matching funds, be sure to give them a copy of your donation receipt to increase your impact.
  • Sponsor a Registration Scholarship: Give an amount equal to the cost of registration for one of our weekends, allowing someone to attend who cannot afford it.
  • Gifts of Stock: Giving appreciated stock allows you to donate the entire appreciated amount without paying capital gains taxes on the increased value. Read more here or contact Jim Struve to learn more about this option.
  • Qualified Charitable Distribution:  A good option for retirees who need to meet their minimum distribution without paying taxes on that income. Read more here or contact Jim Struve to learn more about this option.
  • Volunteer: If you would like to volunteer at an event or with organizing behind the scenes please contact us
  • Fund Raising Campaigns: organize a fund raising campaign through your place or worship, neighborhood, social group or employer.
  • Designated Gifts: ask your family or friends to designate a gift to MenHealing for your birthday or other life event. Facebook fundraisers are an easy way to do this. See instructions on this page.
  • In-Kind Donations: gifts of services such as printing and/or frequent flyer miles are just some ideas. Anything can help.
  • Passive Support: designate MenHealing as your charity when shopping through companies that give a percentage to charity. For instance the Amazon Smiles or Smith's Food & Drug Stores programs.
  • Fund Raising Events: for example, solicit funds for each mile of a walk, run, or bike race; or each mile of a mountain climbed.
Let us know if you have any other fund-raising ideas!

Facebook Fundraisers can be conducted any time of year. Visit Facebook's Fundraising Page and choose Raise Money for Personal Cause.  Simply choose MenHealing: Weekends of Recovery as your charity and post to your Facebook Feed. Facebook will take care of the rest. One of our supporters recently did this on their birthday and raised several hundred dollars for MenHealing.

Smith’s Food & Drugs Rewards Card includes an “Inspiring Donations” program; .5% of YOUR purchases will be donated to MenHealing.

SIX Ways You Can Support
MenHealing/Weekends of Recovery

  1. Underwriting WOR/DOR events: our goal is to raise funds to underwrite a significant portion of the actual cost of events, to provide a decreased registration fee for survivors with limited financial resources. Contact Jim Struve to discuss options.
  2. Scholarship Fund: our goal is to maintain financial resources to offer scholarships that allow survivors who need additional financial assistance between 10% and 80% of the actual cost of WOR/DOR events
  3. Research Project: our goal is to maintain on-going research of WOR/DOR events so we can document the impact of these healing retreats as well as contribute to enhancing resources for male-identified survivors. Your gift to our general fund helps to support these efforts. If you would like to make a specific donation to research projects, please indicate in the notes of your donation form.
  4. General Funds: this allows us to allocate money for the maintenance and overall general purposes of maintaining MenHealing/Weekends of Recovery
  5. Special Projects: we encourage the development of special project that can expand outreach and resources for male-identified survivors. Often these special projects provide additional opportunities for alumni volunteer involvement and/or fund-raising activities for MenHealing/Weekends of Recovery. Your gift to our general fund helps to support these efforts. If you would like to make a specific donation to special projects, please indicate in the notes of your donation form.
  6. Endowment Fund: We welcome gifts of any amount to allow us to grow our Endowment Fund which enhances our long-term sustainability. If you wish to make a pledge to the Endowment Fund in your will or through your Estate Trust contact Jim Struve to discuss options.
