We do not want cost to be a barrier for anyone to attend any of our retreats. 20 - 80% scholarship grants and underwriting discounts are available this year for both triple and double occupancy room selections at all Weekends of Recovery. ALL events have scholarships available; reducing tuition to as low as $160 for the entire weekend.
We want to express our deep appreciation to Jaye Rieser and John Walker, both of whom have stepped down from the MenHealing Board, effective at the end of the recent Board Retreat (August 11th). Since 2018, they each have offered invaluable time and energy to help during the initial phase of our Board development. We extend our best regards as both Jaye and John continue to pursue the enjoyments of retirement.
Meanwhile, the Board remains committed to promoting the values of diversity, transparency, ethical integrity, and sustainability. We are very proud of our progress in establishing a working Board, with active collaboration between Board and Facilitator Team. The Board members and the Team spent several hours together during their respective August retreats and shared information, goals and values, and specific ways they plan to collaborate.
75 for 75 Funding Appeal
To honor the 2019 Advanced WOR as our 75th event, we are continuing our appeal to Alumni and Supporters to join our growing community of financial sustainers. We are seeking 75 new monthly recurring donors. Thanks to each of you who have already responded. It is not too late if YOU still want to help. Any amount of recurring monthly contribution helps MenHealing to build a community of financial sustainability.
Peers for Men’s Health Project
A group of trauma psychologists are leading a team to help alleviate psychiatric distress in gay, bi and trans males who have been sexually abused or assaulted. In collaboration with MenHealing these clinicians have recruited and trained 20 men who have experienced sexual victimization to deliver evidence-based online mental health interventions. Jim Struve has been an advisor to the project and a number of the Weekends of Recovery alumni are participating as peer leaders!
Check www.peersformenshealthstudy.com/ for more detailed information about the purpose of the study and related procedures, as well as answers to frequently asked questions about participation. Read more…
