UNDERWRITING DISCOUNTS/SCHOLARSHIP FOR WEEKENDS OF RECOVERY

MenHealing carefully chooses the venues for the WOR, based on comfort, cleanliness, delicious and healthy food, and the staff’s commitment to supporting healing and social justice programs.

However, we do not want cost to be a barrier for any survivor to attend.  In order to make the best venues affordable to attendees, MenHealing maintains a robust Scholarship Fund to provide additional support for participants with financial limitations or hardship.

We have designed a tiered fee structure to make our services available to the widest range of realities for financial circumstances. Event fees are all-inclusive of meals (Friday lunch thru Sunday lunch); 2 nights lodging; and tuition.

    Applying for a scholarship and/or underwriting takes 3 steps;

    1.  Apply for assistance by completing this scholarship registration form.
    2.  Approval and acceptance of scholarship through email.
    3.  Register for the actual event you wish to attend. Your discount/scholarship amount will be applied and you will be sent an invoice for the balance.

If you have any trouble navigating the scholarship or registration process or simply have questions, please feel free to email our office coordinator Trisha.

Event fees for our WOR retreats are built upon three core principles of trust:

    • Registrants will honestly assess their ability to pay for our services
    • Registrants will pay the fee that most accurately matches their level of financial resources
    • Registrants will feel safe and confident to request application for scholarship assistance that most accurately matches their level of financial need

Other ideas if you need financial help in addition to a scholarship grant

    • Go Fund Me Campaign
    • Ask a friend, family member, co-worker to offer financial support – perhaps in conjunction with a special Holiday, Birthday, or Anniversary
    • Your creative ideas?
We encourage you to apply for only the amount of help you need as we seek to spread our scholarship funds to as many men as possible. If your scholarship request can be granted, you will be contacted by email with instructions on how to register for the weekend. We can only provide assistance with registration costs, and cannot at this time provide any assistance with transportation costs.

MenHealing is launching a program evaluation to gather feedback about how these healing retreats have impacted the lives of male-identified survivors and their partners. We are excited about the wealth of information that can be gathered by hearing more about the experiences of our Alumni and ways to enhance our programs.

Our overarching goals are to (1)  identify specific ways the WOR/DORs have made a difference and (2)  hear feedback and suggestions for aspects of the WOR/DORs that can be improved. This information will contribute to our continued efforts to improve our work with survivors as well as to inform the clinical work of therapists, providers, and agencies who provide services to male-identified survivors and their allies.

If you are a WOR/DOR Alumnus, we are requesting your participation in this program evaluation. The information you provide us will remain confidential and not include any identifying information when presented.

To participate in the program evaluation, please register and complete basic demographic information by February 23rd

Within the coming months, we will then send you follow-up information about specific ways you can participate. This will include sending you a survey requesting your feedback about how the WOR/DOR event(s) you attended have impacted your life. You will be able to opt in or out for this evaluation or any future connection with the program.
