The Day of Recovery (DOR) provides a dynamic single-day healing experience. Registration is open to all males - age 18 or older in Massachusetts – who are survivors of sexual violence experienced in childhood and/or adulthood. We welcome cisgender males, queer and non-binary males, and our trans brothers living and identifying as male.
This Day of Recovery is FREE for any resident of Massachusetts thanks to these generous sponsors:
Registration for this event
at the BARCC offices in Cambridge, MA will open January 16th.
Another FREE Day of Recovery is taking place
on Sunday, May 17th in Newton, MA at Newton-Wellesley Hospital -

The DOR offers a compact single-day healing experience for survivors for whom…
- …attending a three-day Weekend of Recovery (WOR) is not currently feasible
- …traveling to a distant WOR retreat site is not currently viable
- …participating in a DOR allows an introductory prelude to attending a WOR
The Day of Recovery provides an opportunity for male survivors to learn helpful skills for healing, to safely explore their emotional experience, and to decrease their isolation by engaging in healing in a community of other male survivors. If you’re a male survivor looking for a deeper connection to yourself and other male survivors, this free day of healing is for you.
The day-long gathering will begin promptly at 9 a.m. and conclude at 5 p.m. Throughout the day, participants can expect to learn or use the following:
- Mindfulness skills
- Body awareness and empowerment
- Experiential activities, including addressing safety guidelines and exploring self-compassion
- Small- and large-group processing
These FREE DOR events are co-led by MenHealing Facilitators and expert BARCC clinical staff.
Facilitators for this event will be: Chad Corbley (he/him), Brandon Douglas (he/him), Roberta Green (she/her), Claire Geruson (they/them), Sharon Imperato (she/her), Shadi Johnston (she/her), Kenton Kirby (he/him), Ernesto Mujica (he/him), Jim Struve (he/him), and Olivia Welk (she/her),
