The Alta Level 1 WOR is being planned as an in-person event. Following the CDC recommendations for COVID-19 precautions, specific guidelines and procedures will be implemented to maximize safety for WOR participants and Facilitators as well as Alta Lodge staff.
- ALL participants will be guaranteed single room occupancy, with exclusive access to their individual lodging space for the duration of the weekend
- The WOR event will have exclusive booking for Alta Lodge for the duration of our event to reduce our overlap with others
- All participants, facilitators, and staff will be required to adhere to safety guidelines that are recommended by CDC during the time of our event, including physical distance/face masks/use of sanitizer protocols
- Registration for this event will be limited to a maximum of 14 participants to allow greater capacity for physical distance.
Alta Lodge and MenHealing are collaborating to reduce the expenses for conducting this event while maintaining the highest standards of care and programming. This will allow a one-time price reduction for this event and a single registration fee for all participants.

The atmosphere of the Alta Lodge is relaxed, intimate and informal. This will be our 26th visit to Alta Lodge, which tells you how much we love the facility.
Located at 8,600 feet (2,700 meters) at the base of the Alta Ski Area in Utah's Wasatch Mountains, the setting offers gorgeous surroundings and spectacular mountain views. During September, the trees are usually in the prime of their fall colors, adding to the beauty of this setting.

About Weekends of Recovery
Weekend of Recovery (WOR) Retreats provide complementary support for any male – 18 or older – who is a survivor of sexual trauma as a child and/or as an adult. By engaging participants in creating an environment that supports safety needs for male survivors, our program format seeks to acknowledge and honor the authentic diversities of attendees at each WOR (racial, ethnic, class, spirituality, sexuality, gender, etc.). Alumni of WOR retreats report the experience contributed to easing their suffering; to enabling higher functioning; to facilitating healthier relationships with friends, partners, children; to inspiring activism; and to diminishing the cycle of victimization.
The Facilitator Team for the 2019 Alta Level 1 WOR is comprised of both male and female facilitators; Lee Beckstead, Uma Dorn, Jim Struve, and Diana Thomas.
We do not want cost to be a barrier for anyone to attend any of our retreats. 20 - 80% scholarship grants are available at all Weekends of Recovery. Scholarships are considered in order of submission. Please apply NOW - before registering.
