Don’t Do This Alone

You are not alone.  One of the first steps in my healing journey was to learn there were others like me.  I have come to believe that a critical part of healing is to be with others who are also survivors.  I treasure the small group of men I am a part of who meets to talk, support, laugh and cry together.  They are folks who “get it.”  I can just me myself in the group.  It is a safe, supportive place.

The first group I joined was one for persons who had completed a MenHealing Weekend of Recovery.  While the group lasted 15 weeks many of us continue to meet together.  If you have completed a Weekend or Day of Recovery these groups are for you.

Often truths and experiences can be expressed and explored in powerful ways through the arts.  Such is the case with the new play, “Bonded.” If you missed the readers theater performance of “Bonded”  there is a one time virtual encore presentation on December 6.  Find out more about this powerful play and register here.

Speaking of expressions through art, MenHealing is partnering with Our Wave, MaleSurvivor, I Am Man, and MenHealing for a planned online art exhibit from men and male-identified survivors during April 2023 . Survivors are invited to share their healing journey in the form of pictures, text, or video! Submissions can be posted through 2/28/23 by clicking here.

MenHealing is a incredible organization.  Most of its funding comes through donations which help make the opportunities available to men regardless of their financial situation.  Your end of the year gift during the 100k in 100 days helps make the work of MenHealing possible.

Don’t take the healing journey alone. We do it together.

Be well. Stay safe. Take good care.
