Sharon is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Massachusetts, where she has been working in the field of sexual trauma for over ten years and is Rape Crisis Trained. She is the Manager of Clinical Services at the Boston Area Rape Crisis Center (BARCC) in Boston. Sharon has extensive experience in working with survivors of sexual victimization by providing individual and group counseling. She has experience in working extensively with male survivors and their loved ones. She co-facilitates a male survivors group in Boston, provides couples counseling, and focuses on sexual issues and addictions that stem from sexual trauma.

Sharon is also an experienced trainer who facilitates trainings & conference presentations/workshops on various aspects of sexual trauma that include; Sexual Victimization 101, responding to disclosures, sexual trauma reactions and crisis counseling skills, child sexual abuse and incest, beginner and advanced clinical training for mental health professionals, alternative clinical interventions for adult trauma survivors and working with male survivors.

Sharon provides these trainings to various audiences that include mental and medical health professionals, military personnel, and other social service providers. She has also provided training to university counseling centers and has been a guest lecturer for undergraduate and graduate classes at Tufts University, Northeastern University, and Boston University. Sharon is also a trainer/consultant that works with various agencies, including domestic violence agencies, on working with issues of sexual victimization and provides trauma focused supervision to local therapists in both private practice and working within agencies.

Sharon has also been an adjunct faculty member in graduate programs at both Boston Universitys Mental Health and Behavioral Medicine program and the Lesley University Clinical Mental Health program.
