2019 Advanced WOR A Success
We had a dynamic 75th WOR despite some unexpected challenges. A storm on Thursday evening triggered massive landslides across 4 miles of the only highway that accesses Alta, UT. We employed creativity and collaboration between our Facilitator Team, Alta Lodge Staff, and Alumni who had registered for the Advanced WOR to Sheppard everyone to arrive at the retreat site. The Team reconfigured the agenda to accommodate a late start and the rest of the weekend was inspiring. Participants were delighted by the frequent visitations of a magnificent local Moose.
2019 Facilitator Team & Board Retreats
Following the Advanced WOR, all 14 members of the Facilitator Team assembled for 2 ½ days of Staff Retreat. This allowed productive time to deepen our team-building and plan for future events.
The MenHealing Board also conducted a working Retreat that included time to meet directly with the Facilitator Team. Board and Facilitators are committed to building an organizational culture that insures transparency and collaboration.
75 for 75 Funding Appeal
To honor the 2019 Advanced WOR as our 75th event, we are appealing to Alumni and Supporters to join our growing community of financial sustainers. We are seeking 75 new monthly recurring donors. Thanks to each of you who have already responded. It is not too late if YOU still want to help. Any amount of recurring monthly contribution helps MenHealing to build a community of financial sustainability.
2019 Weekend of Recovery Events
Registration remains open for the 2019 Alta, UT. Level 1 WOR on September 20 - 22nd and the 2019 Hope Springs, OH. Level 1 WOR on October 18– 20th. Both events are filling quickly so consider registering early if you want to attend.
For a complete roster of WOR events scheduled thru October 2020, check here.
We do not want cost to be a barrier for anyone to attend any of our retreats. 20 - 80% scholarship grants and underwriting discounts are available this year for both triple and double occupancy room selections at all Weekends of Recovery. ALL events have scholarships available; reducing tuition to as low as $160 for the entire weekend.
Evening of Hope in Seattle
We have planned another “Evening of Hope: Voices of Healing” event in Seattle: 4 p.m. on Saturday, September 7th. This event is free and open to the public. MenHealing is again collaborating with PeerSeattle for this outreach event.
…to the many individual and recurring monthly financial donors to MenHealing. We especially appreciate several VERY GENEROUS donations within the last couple of months
One man’s healing contributes to generational and cultural social change; YOUR financial contribution supports the empowerment of a larger community of survivors
