Scholarship Fund Updates
Thanks to generous financial contributions from donors like YOU, MenHealing is able to maintain a robust Scholarship Fund.
In 2018, 40% of Weekend of Recovery participants received scholarship assistance
58% of men who have thus far registered for 2019 WOR events are able to attend because of scholarship assistance
A grant from the MA Office of Victims of Crime, subsidized FREE attendance for 100% of the participants who attended the recent Day of Recovery events in the greater Boston area
A special thanks to donors who contributed a total of $9,562.50 to the Kilimanjaro Expedition Climb during 2018 and 2019, all of which money was given to our Scholarship Fund
We also want to acknowledge the Tyler Perry Foundation for their $10,000 gift to our Scholarship Fund in January 2019.
Please consider whether YOU can make a financial gift to help us maintain – and expand- this Scholarship Fund which has become critically important for so many male survivors who would otherwise not be able to attend a WOR or DOR event

MenHealing Video Project
An Invitation for YOU to Help Other Male Survivors
We have begun developing a unique and exciting outreach video to highlight the diversity of male survivors. This brief 2 – 5 minute video – tentatively entitled “Did You Know” – will offer a compelling visual montage to address three important issues:
de-mystifying the invisibility of male sexual victimization
challenging male survivors to reach out for help
inspiring male survivors to share in the transformative promise and power of healing
We are looking for feedback from a minimum of 50 male survivors – and family, allies, friends, or providers – who can complete a simple survey to offer YOUR input to help us craft the text and format for this video. Please respond to Jim Struveas soon as possible if YOU are interested and available to provide YOUR feedback.
This “Did You Know” video project is inspired by a wonderful video – “What If I Told You” – that has been produced by Our Kids, a nonprofit agency in Nashville, TN. If you have not already viewed this video – you are strongly encouraged to watch it. Then, imagine the possibilities for our MenHealing “Did You Know” video that focuses more precisely on male survivors. And participate in the feedback survey.
