Day of Recovery Events in Massachusetts
Thanks to the courageous men who participated in the 2 Day of Recovery events this past weekend (June 8th & 9th) in Waltham & Boston, MA. Both events were very successful. We also want to thank the staff at the Boston Area Rape Crisis Center for the opportunity to collaborate on this project. We had a special opportunity to conduct a full-day training workshop on June 6th and several BARCC staff joined WOR Facilitators to conduct the two DORs.
These 2 DORs mark the completion of 74 WOR/DOR events that have been conducted since September 2001.
We are maintaining an on-going partnership between MenHealing & BARCC to conduct additional events in 2020, with possible continued collaborations beyond 2020. The schedule for dates and locations of next year’s events will be announced later this summer.

The program will consist of a screening of the film “Boys & Men Healing” and will be followed by a panel of male survivors and audience Q & A.
Space is limited and we are expecting a full house, so reservations can be submitted HERE.

2019 Weekend of Recovery Events
Registration remains open thru July 26th for the 2019 Advanced WOR on August 9 – 11th at Alta, UT. This will mark our 75th WOR! The theme of this year’s event is “Calming the Conflicts Inside: Tools for Self-Compassion and Healing.” We are looking forward to renewing our contacts with WOR/DOR Alumni for this exciting weekend experience.
Registration remains open for the Alta, UT Level 1 WOR on September 20 -22nd. We are filling that weekend quickly so consider registering early if you want to attend.
Registration for the Hope Springs, OH WOR (October 18 – 20th ) will open on June 18th.
For a complete roster of WOR events scheduled thru October 2020, check here.
We do not want cost to be a barrier for anyone to attend any of our retreats. 20 - 80% scholarship grants and underwriting discounts are available this year for both triple and double occupancy room selections at all Weekends of Recovery. ALL events have scholarships available; reducing tuition to as low as $160 for the entire weekend.
New videos are in production or planning stage for the “Beyond Survival: Voices of Healing” video project. We will soon be releasing some additional videos that feature male survivor healing journeys.
Jordan Masciangelo is working with a Toronto filmmaker on the production of a longer video that chronicles his incredible Mt. Kilimanjaro Climb, which will be donated to MenHealing for our Outreach events.
We are also in the preliminary stages of production for a video to highlight WOR & DOR events. This will allow us to share an inside view of the event activities and venues plus feature some of our Facilitator Team. We hope to have this video ready for release sometime in the fall 2019.
Program Evaluation Project
Moses Kairigi - who has been working with our Program Evaluation Project (PEP) since January 2019 - has finished his semester with us. We really appreciate all his hard work on the initial stages of helping us to design and implement this project. We wish him the best on his future endeavors.
Halleh Hashtpari is the newest member of our PEP team. They will be joining Nic Siniscalchi and working with us through Spring 2020. Please welcome Halleh.
Halleh will be helping us to implement Phase 2 of the Program Evaluation Project, which will include post event Focus Groups to maintain on-going contact and feedback with WOR/DOR Alumni. The initial Focus Groups begin in July.
We will soon be ready to begin releasing results from the Retrospective Survey we conducted during the spring and that has provided a rich amount of feedback from Alumni who have attended WOR/DOR events prior to 2019.
