Lisa Jameson, LMFT has been a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist since 1986. She began her training in 1981 at the Incest Treatment Team of Stanislaus County, conducting support groups for survivors, family supporters and perpetrators. She co-developed Merced County of Mental Health’s Specialized Treatment and Rehabilitation Services (S.T.A.R.S.), a program specifically focused on identifying and treating young male victims and perpetrators of sexual abuse. An additional focus was on educating the lay and mental health community about the true extent of the traumatization of boys and their particular treatment and support needs.
Since 1989 she’s been in private practice working with trauma from an increasingly depth orientation, integrating Jungian, Psychoanalytic and mindfulness approaches which invite the whole Self, including the unconscious to be a part of the healing process. She has particular interests in the ways in which the Self reaches for expression through dreams, expressive art, body and relationship.
