healing through adventure

Healing from trauma isn’t always achieved from your therapist’s couch. Experience is an essential piece of the healing puzzle.

Adventure inherently involves experiencing a certain level of risk, stress, and mental and physical challenge. It compels self-awareness, body-awareness, trust, interpersonal skills and problem solving - promoting growth, confidence and empowerment. These cylinders fire all at once, eliciting profound personal change.

Removing yourself from the day-to-day, leaving your comfort zone and pushing your limits can give anyone brave enough to try, a perspective on life that would otherwise be unfathomable. Adventure has the ability to tap into all the good and all the bad -  giving you the opportunity to really see who you were, who you are, and who you’re becoming - like a mini microcosm of your healing journey.  The experience has the power to gel who you are as a person.

Adventure healing is the Holy Grail of trauma recovery and a tool that all trauma survivors should never forget is in their toolbox.

Since discovering the healing power of adventure, Jordan has come face to face with a great white shark while cage diving in South Africa, walked miles along the Great Wall in China, hiked to the ancient city of Machu Picchu, prayed at the Wailing Wall in Jerusalem, snorkeled with sea lions on the shores of the Galapagos Islands, camped deep in the Amazon Rainforest, cycled down the most dangerous road in the world in Bolivia, bungeed into a canyon in Ecuador and ascended the tomb shafts of the Great Pyramids of Giza. Conquering Mount Kilimanjaro has been a dream of his for years and the journey to her summit is the ultimate adventure!
